Earlier this week I did something super fun which I wanted to share with you all. I spent the day with my friend Sophie ( baking up a storm! We first met at a macaron-making workshop I hosted in Borough Market’s Cookhouse Kitchen this summer and we immediately got on, as she understands that even though we all need to be more conscious of what we are eating for our own health and that of the environment, it is also important to treat ourselves! This is why Mon Dessert macarons are the ideal sweet treat: gluten-free and baked in the healthiest way possible! Sophie is all about natural ingredients and food colours which Mon Dessert aim to use wherever possible. We wanted to try our hand at using the Mini Kits to make a macaron tower and demonstrate how simple and easy to use the Mon Dessert baking kits are!

Spending the day with Sophie reminded me how fun the kits are and what a great activity macaron making is when done with friends! We both agreed spending the afternoon baking is a fantastic excuse to catch up while getting creative in the kitchen with friends or family members.

The Mini Kits have been designed to save you the hassle of sourcing and weighing out ingredients, letting you instead get on with the fun part. We made two batches of Mon Dessert macarons (Choco Coco & Pistachio) in under two hours! Here's how we got on...

TOP TIP: I recommend making the filling first, popping it in the freezer to set; this way the mixture thickens up far quicker and makes it the perfect consistency by the time your shells have baked. This way, everything is ready to be sandwiched together with finesse!
