Today is a special and very important day. Today we raise a mug in honour of all those who have, are or ever will be affected by cancer. Today is the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning organised by Macmillan Cancer Support; and we’re all invited!
In case you haven’t heard of this wonderful event, the World’s Biggest Coffee morning is pretty much exactly what it sounds like; a day where hundreds and thousands of people get together to have a cuppa tea and a slice of cake with friends, family, colleagues and sometimes even total strangers! Up and down the country people will be hosting coffee mornings, held in homes, community centres, offices and beyond, all in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
This quintessentially British event is a well-established part of Macmillan’s fundraising. Established almost three decades ago in 1990, the idea began with friends, family and colleagues clubbing together to share a morning filled with tea, coffee and delicious cakes and bakes, donating whatever they could to the cause. Over the last 27 years, an incredible £165.5million has been donated to the cancer charity thanks to Macmillan Coffee Morning, with £29.5million raised in 2016 alone!
2.5 million people suffer from cancer in the UK and within 15 years the figure is expected to reach 4 million. Every penny is greatly valued now more than ever and you too can help those at Macmillan Cancer Support provide support for those affected. Simply contributing a few pounds can help the charity provide medical, emotional, practical and financial support to those living with cancer, as well as supporting their nearest and dearest.
Mon Dessert and our wonderful digital marketing media team at Brandlective, are proud to be supporting such a worthy cause. The Mon Dessert x Brandlective Coffee Morning will feature a selection of Mon Dessert’s moreish macarons as well as a number of other delicious sweet and savoury treats! Mon Dessert has also been involved in Hitherfield Primary School's Coffee Morning, with Samina hosting a kiddie filled baking afternoon! See the cute pictures below! We are hoping to raise enough money to make a difference as cancer is undoubtedly one of the toughest fights anyone could face but with a little help from Macmillan, and everyone partaking in this amazing fundraising event, their quality of life can be improved.
