Welcome to the first of a series of videos, where we take you behind the scenes of our Mon Dessert Macaron Making Kit to show you exactly what delights you’ll find in your kit, as well as demonstrate a step-by-step process of how to transform your ingredients into delicious macarons.
Today’s first episode introduces the flavours of the kits we have available so chocolate lovers should opt for Chocolate Noir (dark chocolate) and for those of you that prefer something a little more fruity, we recommend our Framboise Rose - that’s raspberry to you and me!
On the side of each beautifully decorated tin you’ll find the list of extra ingredients that you’ll need to make these oh so fashionable treats. We’ve kept it ever so simple and all you need to add is egg whites and cream. Although, you can actually substitute the egg whites if you’re vegan for Aquafaba. Aquafaba is the liquid from chickpeas and if you want to know more about vegan macarons and making them read our blog on them here.
Now we get to the most exciting part; unwrapping the contents of the kit, which have all been carefully housed in a sumptuously embellished tin. It feels like Christmas all over again! The first thing you’ll see is a recipe book that is really detailed and contains lovely illustrations. It’s a step-by-step guide so you literally can’t go wrong with your baking!
Next are the ingredients that come in cute little packets! All our ingredients are organic and gluten-free, so if you have a gluten intolerance or celiac these are the perfect sweet treats for you as they don’t contain any flour or wheat. We’ve got blanched almonds and cocoa powder with icing sugar. We try to use natural food colourings as much as possible so the brown shells are made from cocoa. (If you’re using the Framboise Rose edition the raspberry shells are actually made from beetroot powder). Then we’ve got organic caster sugar, raw chocolate to make the filling and then the real pizzazz, it’s gold glitter to decorate your macarons at the end to add a bit of sparkle!!
Finally, we get to the equipment. The silicone baking mat will allow you to pipe foolproof macarons. You simply pipe them into the middle and they just fall into place. Not only that, it’s reusable and it’s going to last a lifetime! Then we’ve got a silicone piping bag and stainless steel nozzle to help you pipe those perfect rounds. Again both are reusable and you’re not wasting plastic!
So we hope this has given you an insight into what to expect in your Macaron Making Kit. If you love what you’ve seen purchase your kit here:
